Fans memories of their first ever live Leicester City Match

Picture
Leicester City 3 Red Star Belgrade 0
11 February, 1981
Filbert Street

Thirteen-time Yugoslav First League champions Red Star Belgrade made the trip to Filbert Street in February of 1981. The side from the former Yugoslavia arrived with a big reputation and faced a Leicester City side managed by Jock Wallace, who were fresh from taking the 1979/80 Second Division title. However, despite Red Star's impressive trophy cabinet, the team in red and white proved to be no match for the inspired Foxes, who ran out comfortable 3-0 winners, thanks to a hat-trick from Scottish striker Jim Melrose.(lcfc)

Wimbledon vs Leicester, 14th of March '98. I'd only started supporting Leicester recently, as my best friend was from there and a huge supporter. I was living in London, and Selhurst Park wasn't far, so me and another mate went to check it out. We lost 2-1, and the first Leicester player I saw score a goal live was Robbie Savage! I saw the same match the following season, we won 1-0, with Guppy scoring the only goal. Despite living 5 minutes from Highbury, I never saw us play there (although I was close enough to hear us get a couple of hidings (including a 7-0 iirc), the only other London stadium (bar Wembly for the League Cup Final in 00) I visited was White Hart Lane, where Sir Les scored a hat-trick against us...
