Aston Villa 2-4  Leicester City
Premier League

A massive win, and a Brazilian performance of skill, speed and determination from new signing and mom Tete.

City started with all 3 new signings, with Kristiansen and Souter coming into defence, and what signings they look.

Villa started the better, and certainly looked the more likely to open the scoring, and no surprise when they did, when a shot from 25 yards left Ward stranded and smashed against the crossbar, but Watkins was quick to follow up, with Castagne flat footed.

One down, but Souttar and Faes, raised their arms and were telling the others, get your heads up.

The heads up was to pay dividends, when a complete mess up in the Villa defence, lead by Iheanacho, who found Maddison and cities no 10 slotted home and 1-1.

The game was so open, and each side pushing forward, but it was Villa looking more threatening, especially from set pieces, but cities defended was much better.

The villa fans were cheering again after the half hour mark, when a break away from villa and shot from 12 yards was cruel to say the least, when a deflection of Souttar, looped over ward who was left stranded.

Again city were behind, but we were matching villa, with every aspect on the pitch, and Tete playing some football, that resembled the samba dance on a Rio beach.
With halftime approaching and city trailing, a well won ball on the right flank by KDH and fantastic cross field pass, found city in space on the left flank and a pinpoint cross found Iheanacho at the far post who headed home and 2-2.

With the board going up for two added minutes, city broke and fantastic through ball to Tete, and the Brazilian fantastically controlled it, beat the villa defender and rounded the keeper and slotted home, 2-3 and I with 3,500 city fans were ecstatic.

With no second half changes, city came out right from the start on the front foot and when Iheanacho was put through and one on one, how he missed I’ll never know, but he did and was hoping this would not come back to bite us.

Villa really were putting pressure on city, especially on the left flank where Castagne was having a good game but also a torrid time against a powerful left side of villas.
Being away and trailing, villa putting city under pressure was no surprise, and corner after corner city defended resolutely and with a presence I’ve not seen for a while.

With substitutes made and fresh legs on, city still looked organised and in control, but under pressure as well, but after 79 minutes, Praet broke, and similarly to Tete,s goal rounded the keeper and scored and 2-4.

Villa fought back, but this was a city side fighting for every single thing and when the final whistle went, the city fans were not just relieved but in spontaneous voice as this was a huge huge win.

There was a lot of top performances today, but my mom was Tete, just hope he stays fit and my god, when the home fans see him next week, like me pray that after the loan spell we can sign him permanently.

So spurs at home next week and hopefully another great performance against another good team.
