A hat trick by Steve Moran helped Leicester to a 6-1 thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday at Filbert Street. 2 goals from Alan Smith and another from Paul Ramsey completed the rout.

Gary Lineker scored a hat trick in an FA cup 3rd round tie against Burton Albion played at the Baseball ground. 2 goals from Alan Smith and 1 from Steve Lynex were all wiped out by the FA as the game was ordered to be replayed behind closed doors. This followed the Burton Goalkeeper being hit by something thrown from the crowd.

The match that every City fan still talks about the infamous "white tights" game. In an FA cup 3rd round match Keith Weller wore white tights as Leicester City beat Norwich City 3-0. A spectacular goal from Keith Weller which took him past 3 players before hitting the net, proved to be his last for the club. Larry May and Martin Henderson were also on the score sheet in a game that also saw Andy Peake make his debut
