We have had on paper two easy draws but the matches themselves were anything but straightforward. On a pitch that resembled the surface of moon at Newport we snuck through on penalties thanks to Jason Steele saving four spot kicks in the shoot out. With hindsight, that was actually a decent result as plenty of Premier League and Championship clubs have been embarrassed at Rodney Parade, as you guys know all too well! We then just did about enough to get past Blackpool at the Amex, winning 2-1 with a very strong team out. |

I think it's actually got more magical for Brighton fans. When we were in the Championship, the only thing anyone ever wanted was promotion to the Premier League which sadly made the cup a distraction. For me, there is not much glory in celebrating being outside the bottom three each year which is the current level Brighton are at, whereas an FA Cup run gives supporters a chance to dream of entering the history books. The most memorable achievement of our three seasons in the top flight so far hasn't been finishing 15th, 17th and 15th, but getting to Wembley in the semis two seasons ago. |
Not an ideal draw given that Brighton haven't beaten Leicester in seven attempts so far since we won promotion. Having said that, we have a horrid record away at Brentford so whoever won your fourth round tie was always likely to provide tricky opposition. |
No. Arsenal and Liverpool might be out which opens up the door a little, but the big clubs tend to take things seriously the deeper they go in the competition so even if we manage to pull off a surprise by winning at the King Power, we will eventually come unstuck once we meet a Manchester City or United. |
If he's back from injury, Alexis Mac Allister. His emergence as a first team regular a year after arriving from Boca Juniors has coincided with our good reason run. He's a joy to watch and can hurt even the best defences when he's on form. |
We got torn about by pace in wide positions last time, so take your pick from Harvey Barnes and James Justin. Jamie Vardy is normally good for a goal against the Albion too |

I think a fair few would. For me personally, it's a no brainer. Our run to the semi final in 2019 was great fun and to have 34,000 fans at Wembley against City was one of the best days many of us have had as Brighton supporters. The club obviously have to balance the books and so you cannot blame them for prioritising the hundreds of millions which comes with being a Premier League club over a medium-sized silver trophy. To see Brighton win the FA Cup though, I'd happily take that even if it meant having to do Luton Town away next season. |
We announced a £67 million loss two weeks ago for 2019-20, so I think those numbers answer that question. |
Having beaten Spurs at home and Liverpool away recently, we are probably in the best form we have ever been in as Premier League club. A 2-1 Brighton win. |
